For therapists experiencing high mental and emotional load across their workday

The Therapist Capacity Toolkit

Discover an easy, structured way to reduce the build up of stress across your sessions, so you can stay present, think clearly, and maintain your effectiveness as the day progresses.

What happens between sessions when you need to reset but don’t have time?

If you’re a dedicated therapist, who’s been noticing that:

You’re not doing anything wrong – you just don’t have a clear way to reset between sessions!

I’ve seen this pattern before.

Over many years of working with therapists, one pattern stands out.

Skilled practitioners managing increasing mental and emotional load across their day.

Through supervision and my own practice, I’ve seen how quickly this builds without a clear way to reset.

This toolkit was created from that understanding.

To offer something practical that supports capacity, session by session.

The good news is that things can be different.

And it doesn’t have to be complicated to create a meaningful shift in your day!

Introducing…

The Therapist Capacity Toolkit

A simple, between-session reset protocol to help you reduce what builds up across your day.

Inside the Toolkit you will find practical guidance, including…

The Reset Cycle

A simple, repeatable sequence, so you have something clear to follow when your capacity is already low

Physical Reset

Addresses the physical tension that builds across your day, so your body isn’t carrying it into the next session

Attention Reset

Shifts your focus out of the previous session, so you’re not mentally holding onto what just happened

Nervous System Reset

Helps regulate your internal state in real time, so you can regain steadiness between sessions

Transition Reset

Creates a clear psychological shift between clients, so each session feels more contained and separate

Discharge Reset

Helps reduce what has built up cognitively and emotionally, so it doesn’t accumulate across your day

… as well as the following bonuses!

BONUS: Reset Cycle Desk Card

A clear, at-a-glance version of the Reset Cycle, so you can follow the sequence without thinking

BONUS: Decision Map Poster

A simple way to identify what you need between sessions, so you’re not working it out when you’re already full

BONUS: Guided Audio Tracks

Guided audio for each step in the Reset Cycle, so you can follow along without reading, thinking or effort

Frequently Asked Questions

Just a few minutes. You can shorten it depending on the time you have between sessions.

No – You can do each practice on it’s own. The Reset Cycle is designed as a sequence, so use it as you need. The structure is what makes it easy to use.

Yes. This doesn’t replace what you already do — it supports the part of the day where load builds between sessions.

No. This is a simple toolkit designed for immediate use. No extra time or learning required.

At the start of the day; between sessions and other tasks; after your last session; before you head for home.

I’m Desi — a psychologist with over 20 years of experience across therapy, clinical supervision, and training.

I’ve sat in that chair too. I know what it’s like to finish a heavy session, have ten minutes before the next client, and feel like part of you is still in the session you just left, or getting home and feeling like you’re still at work.

The truth is, I needed something like this long before I created it.

Supporting therapists within the real demands of their workday — not the idealised version, but the actual one — has been at the heart of my work for a long time.

This toolkit is my practical answer to that. Simple, usable, and grounded in what actually helps — not just in theory, but in practice too.

It’s my offering to the therapists who give so much, and deserve tools that genuinely give something back.
